"Set your mind on things above and not on the things of this world."
Brandon and Alisha Mecier established Faithful Stewards in 2006. The following reasons led them to move in the direction of creating this particular type of ministry:
Understanding and believing that all things come from God and belong to God. We are not "owners" but just "managers" of the time, talents, and treasures that God has entrusted to us.
Once our mindsets began shifting to this mindset, the next phase was "how do we manage these things in a way that would please and honor God?"
"Do not be conformed by the patterns of this world but be transformed by the
renewing of your mind."
The bible and the life of Jesus reveal several areas that God is passionate about. God cares about people and he wants to have a close relationship with each one of us. He cares deeply about the physical, emotional, and spiritual welfare of each one of us. It breaks the heart of God to see his children lost, hungry or hurting.
As we have grown in our relationship with God he has been shaping our hearts and minds to be concerned and passionate about the things that He is.
We personally want to dedicate our lives to be lived out according to Gods will and to be focused on making a difference in the lives of those we come in contact with.
"Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and everything else will be provided for."
In addition to our own personal commitments we recognized our community as one that has been truly blessed. The bible says that to those that have been given much, much is expected. We wanted to create awareness in the community and inform and encourage people of ways that we can contribute in the lives of others. We would love to see our community not known for how much we have, but how much we give.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all ways acknowledge Him and he will make your paths straight."
